“Hello Tomorrow” is the first exhibition to be held after it’s relocation to a new space since the 5th opening anniversary of CAIS Gallery, Hong Kong. The exhibition displays the belief and unconstrained imagination of 5 young artists of Korea.

The unconventional perspective toward world, distinctive ideas in imaginary world, and their passion for life and creation are the common theme displayed through the photography of 5 artists. Their use of photography as medium deviates from the record of inherent characteristic kept for a long period of time. Such transformation on the external development of contemporary photography varies as the attitude and interests of the artists do.

The work of Jung Min RYU covers with concern on the direction of people’s life, and “1978, Seven years old” series by WON Seoung Won displays her experience during the age of 7 and psychological obsession on her mother. Both works arouse sympathy on their common experience from the audience. A still-life photo by KOO Seoung Yeon shares her novel imagination as she interprets the sweets that eventually melt away and disappear as an emblem of desire in our contemporaries. The storytelling from “Dog and Liquor Bottles,”   PARK Yong Sik describes the ego of reality through a puppy traveling within an ambiguous, uncalculated space. The work of KWON Doo Hyun displays the wavering subject in reality as it is that creates tension as the instantly imprinted vague memories start to revive within the works.

Interweaved with an earnest experiment and sought out works, the exhibition “Hello tomorrow” will provide an opportunity to seek out the flow of the modern photography and its identity.
