With the participation of 195 artists from 24 studios across five continents, and from places as diverse as Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, Australia, Bangladesh, Brazil, Canada, Ireland, Luxembourg Portugal, the United Kingdom and the United States, the Hong Kong Graphic Art Fiesta 2010 (HKGAF 2010) is the largest and longest-running printmaking exhibition of the decade in Hong Kong. The event provides an opportunity for local artists and art lovers to acquire a better understanding of the art of printmaking, while at the same time introducing Hong Kong’s printmaking art to the world through international exchange.
The over 300 exhibits at the Convergence Divergence is a reflection of the participating artists. Each print is a result of the reflection on cultures, thoughts of life and the interpretation of the media from the individual printmaker. Printmaking is an elegant art on paper that enables viewers to appreciate the marks, texture, brushstrokes, colours at an intimate distance.
There is no boundary in the Wed 3.0 era. Viewers from all over the world are able to participate in the exhibition by logging on the Virtual Gallery of the Hong Kong Graphic Art Fiesta 2010. It is believed that the Hong Kong Graphic Art Fiesta 2010 will offer a new perspective on printmaking and graphic art to the community, with such diverse and exciting programmes.
