"Rabbit" 2011
by Galerie Ora-Ora
Location: Galerie Ora-Ora
Artist(s): HUANG Yongyu
Date: 28 Jan - 13 Feb 2011

Since 2008, internationally renowned Chinese artist Huang Yongyu launches a limited edition bronze sculpture of that year’s animal zodiac to welcome the Lunar New Year, and to share joy and blessings with the public.

To celebrate the coming of the Year of the Rabbit, Huang is presenting his latest creation of the series, “Rabbit”. The rabbit is depicted peeking out from one of its burrows, wearing a confident smile on its face. Huang’s “Rabbit” is inspired by a Chinese idiom, “a crafty rabbit has three burrows”, and he reinterpreted it with a positive meaning, stressing on the cleverness of the rabbit to make itself more than one safe homes. It symbolizes a blessing of good energy and safety for the New Year.

The “Rabbit” is limited to 1000 editions, and will be available for preview from 28 January at Galerie Ora-Ora.
