Galerie Ora-Ora is proud to announce our participation in the first edition of Art Basel Hong Kong. Living in a modern city like Hong Kong, Halley Cheng recognizes that people’s perceptions are at times stereotyped. In view of this, for Art Basel HK 2013, Cheng will create an installation based on his contemporary ink drawings and bring us into awareness of our mode of perception. Using modern common writing tools such as pencils, ball point pens, markers, etc. to draw tiny, fragmented images, as one looks closer, one may find characters from movies, games, mixed with trees and other interesting objects. Cheng hopes that rather than a mere reflection of a grandeur view of the world, his artworks will project a humble reality of things, stimulating audiences to re-examine their lives in a new perspective.
