Galerie Ora-Ora is proud to present one of Hong Kong’s best collected artists Mr. Kum Chi Keung’s latest New Ink works, the “Bird Cage” series. Through portraying Chinese pine forests over hi-lux crystal polymers, the essence of traditional Chinese ink absorption into paper is displayed in a timeless manner. Through engraving Chinese garden landscapes on black granite, the impression of a traditional Chinese landscape painting is reinvigorated with an inverted twist of abstraction. Although the two approaches employ bird cages as the them of expression, both provide avid art-lovers contemporary perspectives to Chinese ink.
