Moon Gallery proudly presents “Iconography,” a Solo exhibition featuring the latest paintings of Korean contemporary artist Kim Joong Sik.
Kim studied painting in Korea and Ecole Nationale Superieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris. It is not surprising that his works display a strong mixture of east and west. In Kim’s work, familiar images from classical western paintings and modern pop icon often co-exist with the images of Korean old photograph and historical object.
Also, Kim uniquely adopts with a very time-consuming dot-pattern painting technique. While interpreting and adapting existing contents, Kim removes the banality and universality from conventional objective images.
“Iconography” is Kim Joong Sik’s first solo exhibition in Hong Kong. This exhibition provides a rare opportunity to see such an important Korean contemporary artist in Hong Kong. It is a not-to-be-missed exhibition for art lovers.
Moon Gallery Hong Kong continues to be the leading gallery to promote Korean, British and Chinese contemporary art, and to exhibit the most influential artists of today and tomorrow.
