In recent years, the multimedia art form has become one of the dominant art forms in Korean contemporary art. With the rapid advancement of digital technology and Korea's prominence as one of the most IT-literate countries in the world, many artists in Korea are utilizing multimedia as their art form of choice.
Among them, Lee Lee Nam is considered by many as the most prominent multimedia artist in Asia. His computer animations skillfully recompose and reinterpret masterpieces of the past, bringing them to life. His works are constantly being showcased in Hong Kong auctions and therefore the Hong Kong public is very familiar with his work.
Tobias Berger has the distinction of having worked at the Kunsthalle Fridericianum, the Triennial in Vilnius, ARTSPACE in Auck-land, Para/Site Art Space in Hong Kong and as Chief Curator at the Nam June Paik Art Center in Korea. He was also Curator for the Hong Kong Pavilion at the Venice Biennale in 2009 and is currently working as a curator at M+, the future Museum of Visual Art at the West Kowloon District in Hong Kong.
