The ultimate collaboration between the two artists Aya Shindo x Harry C is a journey into the underground BDSM Tokyo scene playing in Hotel rooms and other non-places.

‘Dark Beauty: a Dream of a Queen’ invites the ‘Voyeur’ into a post-narrative heterotopian fantasma. From the S&M performances, just the bodies of the Master and the Slaves (shooting by Harry C) appear to our eyes into the Successive Slidings of the drawings (By Aya Shindo) revealing the strangeness of the consensual relation of a photographer and an artist.

As ‘Voyeur’ we are invited to penetrate ‘the Dream’ in a complex dualistic ‘Eye’: we are the passive spectators of the imaginary Phantasm of the ‘Queen’ and the active dreamers of our desires. ‘Dark Beauty: the Dream of a Queen’ reminds me ‘l’Histoire de l’oeil’ (‘Story of the Eye’) written by Georges Bataille not as a literal interpretation but as a narrative voyeuristic experience.
