'OTHER SIDES" is the latest lenticular photography series by UK artist Jeffrey Robb. The bodies, painted white, seem remote and untouchable, like ghostly apparitions floating in velvety emptiness; but at the same time, they have a stillness and solidity reminiscent of stone or marble sculpture. They captured the unknown sides of human psychic processes, conscious and unconscious. The three dimensional film and photographic process enhances the sensation that before our eyes, the women appear to be turning into wraiths -drained of colour, gradually released from the forces of gravity, the figures are at a gateway, a threshold, and the viewer is wit-nessing this metamorphosis through the 3D image into another space, another realm.
Jeffrey was born in 1965. He was trained in the Royal College of Art and graduated as a Danvin Scholar in Fine Art. His works are collected in Victoria and Albert Museum (London, UK), Getty Museum (Los Angeles, US), SAM Museum (Osaka, Japan), Gallery 286 (London, UK), Artificium Gallery (Prague, Czech Republic) and Dietmar Olhmann (Germany).
