Brazillian photographer Marcelo Gomes's works speak strongly about color, light, and shape, but most of all they speak about beauty, courageous in their simplicity, and sincere in their almost hyper-sensitivity, Marcelo's images often conjur up feelings of cinematic moments on pause. Marcelo likes to take pictures of what he considers "normal things in life", things that allow him to share the delights he experiences around him all the time. His largest influence is color and he uses no digital effects or manipulation while printing. All of Marcelo's images are created within camera.
This is a photography collection of Marcelo's images "Love and Before, Green and After" which were published by Hassla Books in 2008. He also exhibited his work at Surface to Air in Sao Paulo in 2008, BAMart in New York, Family Back Room Gallery in Los Angeles and "New York, New York"curated by Tim Barber in New York in 2010. Marcelo Gomes lives and works between New York City and Sao Paulo, Brazil.
