Jiang Art Gallery proudly curates and presents Rupture, solo photography exhibition of Laurent Segretier. Laurent Segretier is a French photographer of the new media generation. Rupture is his new series after Fragments series and Ephemeral series. In the Rupture photo series, a woman's willowy silhouette is contorted as if it is reflected in an ocean of loneliness. Women are usually the subjects gazed through Segretier's camera eye. They are captured in particular expressive moments of joy, sorrow, euphoria, and pain. The anonymity and repetition of the women's faces are not meant to revealthe artist's male phantasm, but instead fulfill his endless search for absolute feminine beauty, which ismaterialized in the form of what he calls "pixilated strokes", inscribed on the surface of the images. This pixilated texture, although mechanically produced, manifests itself as unique patterns in each ofSegretier's photographic prints, creating an original quality that resembles the most traditional art forms.

Segretier received his Bachelor of Design in Visual Communication from Nice Business School and has worked in Hong Kong, China and France as a commercial photographer for nearly ten years. Since early 2010, Segretier's fine art works were extensively exhibited in Hong Kong and China.
