Reincarnation of Matter
by The Upper Station Photo Gallery
Location: The Upper Station Photo Gallery
Artist(s): SO Hing Keung
Date: 22 Jan - 27 Mar 2011

Photography captures and records the transformation of matter as they exist through time. Infused with elements from oriental religions, the photograph takes on a transcendental perspective and leads one to explore the nature of incarnation, as is evidenced by the “undying” material being photographed.

A pure, direct form of photographic approach is used to express what is being observed, namely the change of material and its relationship with reincarnation.

What I find intriguing is that as we observe the external world, is it the world, or rather, is it the observer’s thoughts and perception that is changing? -- So Hing Keung
