Wan Fung Art Gallery(HK) presents an exhibition of oil paintings by Jimmy He, the first solo exhibition of his work in Hong Kong. The exhibition would showcase about 20 artworks in overwhelming size that are created by mixed media. Originally from Shanghai, Jimmy He has immigrated to Australia for more than 20 years. He is now residing in Tasmania where an almost infinite source of inspiration is gifted. He mostly paints landscapes of the views from his house and has successfully utilized the natural treasures around. With the use of glossy shells and textured branches on canvas, his artworks could be appreciated in a 3-dimensional space. The intention for doing the extra installating parts is to imitate a natural habitat. His works are a mixture of the nature and talents. And this is what makes his works so unique and shining in sight.

About the artist:

Jimmy He was the Shanghai first machinery department exhibition advertising designer from 1965 to 1984. He then became the Artistic designer in Shanghai Advertising and Decorating Company till 1987. He has proved himself talented in oil painting with the Shanghai Theatrical Institute the Professor oil painter Jun De Chen in 1976. Shanghai Fuxin Art Gallery held his first solo exhibition in 1987. He then immigrated to Australia and set up 2 advertising companies in Sydney. From 1998 till now, Jimmy has set up a seafood export Company in Tasmania. He has dual role as an artist and a successful businessman. In the January of 2013, Jimmy has successfully held a solo exhibition at Salamanca Arts Centre ,Hobart, Tasmania, Australia.
