Bringing “Art．People．Nature” together in harmony, K11 Art Mall always endeavors to protect environment. This year, K11 is presenting "Spice Up, Africa!" from now on until 29 May. Students and local artists through a series of exhibitions, guided tours & Art performance, share their life experience from East Africa in last year’s eco-tour and enlighten us create green living. Meanwhile, the “Green Home” installation at K11 Piazza features the new living style and brings the new eco concept from K11 ECO HOME (Beijing) to Hong Kong.
K11 Piazza will feature two special time spaces, can bring you travel from ancient to the future, to experience the eco-tourism from Kenya Africa, the original and modern green living, and the energy evolution for the future home. And the “ECO Island” concept model will first come to Hong Kong from K11 ECO HOME (Beijing) and setup at K11. Through a series of exhibitions and activities, K11 will bring you the refreshment and enlightenment of living style in future.
HKU student & local artists experienced the dematerialize life in Africa
Talking about East Africa, what first comes to your mind may be the great migration in Kenya. But in fact, there is a diversity of species in East Africa included local customs practices, distinctive buildings, and also an unexpected environmental lifestyle. K11, following in 2009, again in 2010 to support 14 students in School of Biological Sciences, the University of Hong Kong, together with three young talents - two local artists Lo Lok Him and Tse Chun Sing along with K11 Senior Customer Services Officer TJ , went to Kenya for two weeks to explore the East African journey.
From now on until 29 May, students from School of Biological Sciences will compose words and photos to create unique "tour diary", through the 18 showcases to allow shoppers to know the meaning of "eco-tourism". Two HKU students, Janice used ink pen and Stanley used mixed materials to show what they captured in Africa. Furthermore, shoppers can register the eco tour and seminar for free at B2 redemption counter (Please find the details from Appendix 1.)

Local artist Tse Chun Sing and Lo Lok Him present “East Africa - Joy on the Red Soil”
Inspired by the trip to East Africa last year, two local artists, Tse Chun Sing, Lo Lok Him and Customer Service representative of K11 TJ will bring us their sound installation, performance and photos respectively to share the Joy on the Red Soil.
