Beneath the limitless sky, concrete structures are densely juxtaposed between shattered windows, laundry racks and signs; tangled poles and criss crossing antennas silently documenting the unique compositions of its living heritage, yet the art of living within these spatial constrains, renders new realities between existence and dreams.
[Kōng]2 exhibits Sim Chan's observations of living within the city. Sim uses worm's eyes view to transform these observations into lines, forms and symbols. Two-dimensional frames are unlocked to recapture the ever-changing silhouette of the sky; he imposes regulations and formulas to define new boundaries, within a new set of obscured dimensions, the sky becomes quantifiable and measurable. [Kōng]2 experiments the challenges between liberty and captivity by refurbishing, renewing and remeasuring every point of view.
