New Gallery on Old Bailey proudly presents the joint exhibition of three contemporary Hong Kong artists titled, HK3.  Nancy Lee, Fanny Wong, and Carman Chan are three young and talented local educated artists who energetically involve in their art creativities. HK3 is an exhibition displays the artists’ individual artists’ impression towards the world, both physical and spiritual, in their lives. Each of the artists possesses a unique perspective in the interpretation of the world that the viewers can identify in their distinguished chooses of themes, mediums, visual languages and more.

Lee employs ink and water colors to render the scenes of Jerusalem from her past experience of her staying in the location. Through her art, she expresses her passion to the spiritual world of Christianity.  

In her non-objective paintings, Wong invites her viewers to participate in the poetic space of hers. Wong arrays the art elements, such as dots, lines, compositions, etc. to exhibit a strong personal emotion toward a world of free imagination.  Wong’s paintings become the dialogue between the artist and the viewers without boundaries.

Chan interests in the objective presentation of the contemporary urban space of Hong Kong.  Chan claims that his works reflects the traditional and valuable lifestyle, environment and culture of Hong Kong, such as typhoon shelters, wet markets, hawkers, and scavengers etc. They portray different people, occupations, and places that embody the essence of the local culture and history. The composition may be modest and ordinary, but alluding to a tinge of nostalgia for the bygone society of old Hong Kong. They also carry his view and silent reaction to the relentless modernization of the metropolis.   

It is an exciting opportunity to bring these three sentimental individuals of the local art scene together to display their art at the flesh venue of New Gallery on Old Bailey.
