Two minds and one eye
by New Gallery on Old Bailey
Location: New Gallery on Old Bailey
Artist(s): B9
Date: 16 Nov 2013 - 26 Jan 2014

Hephaistion & Saffie are two individual artists who have combined their efforts into one umbrella called B9. Their co-operation is aimed to prove that in life you can survive doing what you want, in fact not only just to survive but you can even soar higher than you ever thought possible; doing-what-you-want and being yourself. "We strive to believe that everyone is born equal to create, think, and desire." B9 says.

B9 is a dual type postmodern, Andy Warhol / Keith Haring inspired, New Media Artists. They work in acrylic and express elements of patience, calmness, and togetherness in each piece of artwork. The attraction to this series was due to a high level of communication and understanding between these two artists while simultaneously working on a single canvas. They describe this collaboration as "Two minds and one eye".

The new of acrylic on canvas collection is a "Two minds and one eye" experience. It is subdivided into four groups: "Genesis", "From Alaska, Aurora Borealis", "Hong Kong-our Home" and "New Directions" in which we explore the same concept of "Nothing-to-Something". This concept can be reflected into our everyday lives, when a business breaks even, when a boat starts to hop out of the water and when love is found. "Nothing-to-Something" is a key conceptual idea in their works.
