Technology develops from wired to wireless, artistic praxis is non-stop in media and technology worlds. Through media-archeological excavations, scholars strives to retrieve the relic from early and obsolete practices and technologies of communication, and map those material traces of the past in their social, cultural and political contexts, in order to satisfy our archive fever. In the special exhibition of Hong Kong International Art Fair 2011, Videotage and Inter-Act Arts showcased New Media Archeology (Hong Kong Edition) . New Media Archeology (VMAC Edition) , initiated by Ellen Pau and organized by Videotage and Inter-Act Arts, will showcase highlights of Shanghai eArts Festival collection on media archeology, together with media artworks from local artists. From media-archeology, we will be back to the era of early media art to trace the relic. Join our show and get into the journey of development of media art.
