Sino Group’s ‘Art in Hong Kong’ presents a thematic exhibition for the world cup season ­– “ONE – An Exhibition of Art and Football by Otto Li”. Local artist and devoted football fan Otto Li Tin Lun has combined football and art to create a fascinating tribute where sport and art fans can find common ground in a wonderland of art and football.
 
When football encounters art

A concept artist in a CG animation company, Otto's works always come from his experience. As he is a typical football nut, he has often combined art and football to create fascinating artworks over the years. This exhibition is his first solo exhibition this year. He has contributed  5  new artworks and refreshed some of his older artworks. Over 12 football-themed works will be featured in the exhibition. Highlighted work includes the ‘Player Portraits’ series. Superstars like Kaka Ricardo, Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney are featured and presented in a pixilated style, which is often adopted by Otto.

The other highlighted work features the 32 national teams and their key players creatively presented in a lightbox format. The lighting pattern depends on the result of the matches, with the losing team lights turned off. The audience thus receive the latest updates in an artistic way.

This exhibition is distinctive among the many football-themed activities during this period and allows visitors get in touch with art and encourages the habit of visiting art exhibitions. To highlight this merger of art and football, OC Gallery will be decorated as a dream football field opening a new dimension where sport encounters art.
