Born in Macau, Lucia Cheung settled in Hong Kong at an early age. In the 70s she studied language and fine art in Italy. In 1979 she studied Chinese painting under the late Professor Yang Shan Shen – Master of Ling Nam School. Cheung has held 15 solo exhibitions and has participated in numerous important group exhibitions. Her works are in museums and public and private collections. Commissioned works include the MTR glass mosaic mural at Central Station and the glass mosaic mural in Shanghai commissioned by Shui On Land. Apart from painting, Cheung served the ‘Ming Pao Weekly’ as contributing editor from 1988 to 1994 and initiated ‘Ming Pao Children’s Weekly’.
