David Paskett is recognised as one of Britain's leading watercolourists and holds the prestigious position of President of the Royal Watercolour Society in London. He is a frequent exhibitor at London's Bankside Gallery, home of the RWS, as well as in Hong Kong and the USA. David Paskett lived in Hong Kong in the 1980's and has been a frequent visitor to Hong Kong and China ever since, these being a major source of inspiration for his work.

In August 2009, David Paskett attended the 2nd Chinese Watercolour Painting Festival of Lushan in Jiangxi province as a guest lecturer and judge, and he has also been invited to judge, lecture and exhibit at the Shanghai Zhu Jia Jiao International Watercolour Biennale Exhibition in March 2010.
