Mischmasch Gallery invites you to delve into a world of unlocked creative visions by 4 local artists. Despite Hong Kong being an unlikely haven for artists, there still remains true productive creators of beauty within the midst of the bustling city. These artists face a multitude of challenges, but their revelations refuse to be hidden. Together, the works of Fhung Lie, Damon Tong, Scott Chan, and Emily Lau are revealed to form a narrative that is concerned with realizing their hidden dreams.

In the Hong Kong Debut of Indonesian artist Fhung Lie, her 'Dream Archives' installations address the inner growth and metamorphisis that unconsciously takes place within the human body. Fhung's work is part of the permanent collection of the World Ceramic Foundation. Icheon South Korea. Meanwhile, Scott Chan, an artitst proundly born and raised in Hong Kong, reveals a neglected world of beauty in his raw, street-art inspired illustrations. His delicate line strokes capture the veiled details and disguised realities of life, presenting the harmony to be found in chaos. The paintings by local Fotanian artist Damon Tong allude to the endless perspectives that can be used to view a simple object, and the illustion the object constantly plays on the viewer. The show is complete with works by Hong Kong based painter, Emily Lau, who is originally from Nanjing, China. Her surreal, graphic-style fantasies deal with the lack of individualism in urban and commercially-driven worlds. Viewers can easily get lost in her bright, youthful dreamscapes, complete with shadowy figures painted in black, which embody the personal isolation experienced by city dwellers.
