(July 30th, 2009 Hong Kong) In August 2009, the 10th anniversary of his performances and art creations, performance artist yuenjie publishes his performances collection, as well as staging two performances, capturing his important art works starting from 1999.

In the coming 29th and 30th August, 2009, he will be carrying out two stage performances, “Social Concern“ and “Love and Desire”, at Cattle Depot Theatre, where he started his art works journey ten years ago. In addition, the performances collection, being one of the few Chinese English translated performance arts collection books in Hong Kong, mainly captures the important art works done by yuenjie in the past 10 years (1999 -2009). The book makes use of a large amount of photos and hand written documents to illustrate his works, which focus on reflecting on himself and the society, providing a firm study base for both local and international performance art.

yuenjie is one of the active performance artists in Hong Kong. In his works, it is easy to find MARU making use of his own physical body as the medium, to express his feelings towards love and the society. Giving his works the name “MARU LIVE ART”, he captures his audiences in his way. Starting from 1999, yuenjie has created more than 200 pieces of art works. In 2009, the 10th anniversary of his performances and art creations, as a look back as well as a round-up, he presents this special “MARULIVEART TEN YEARS Performances”.

The adult tickets of performance are $85. A small number of student tickets, elder tickets and package are available in special discount. The performance will be Approx. 1 hr. with no interval. Performance Art
Performance Art is an art performance which is different from traditional performance styles in theatre. It originally emerged from the breakthrough towards traditional painting styles by some visual artists, and the real-time and free-style performance has been favored by many musicians, dancers, actors from the time on. Performance Art can be carried out by anyone with his/her unique style, without requiring any professional knowledge in acting. Performance Art, with its _unique impact, is viewed as a new element towards modern theatre.
