In this exhibition, artist CHO RanHyang introduces a unique technique called "Machine Drawing" to portrait ordinary people with everyday casual postures. Artist HAN SunHyun humanizes himself as a funny goat, as he thinks goats have many facial expressions and they are very talented animals. Artist KWON YoungSul using the elephant which represents the oldest animal in the world to carry the symbols that tell the story of his dreams and memories.
When dreams meet reality . . .
In fiction or in dreams, people and animals are often friends hanging out side by side; e.g. The famous Garfield comic strip, being portrayed as lazy and fat, loves to eat Lasagna and hates Mondays. Another famous novel "Northern Lights", known as "The Golden Compass," which is situated in a parallel universe where a person's soul resides outside the body in an animal-like form, and the girl Lyra meets a sapient armored Bear fighting the dark side. It is indeed interesting and it gives a different depth when animals are humanized in the stories, or in our case, in the works of art.
