Life – Truly Alive
by Asia Fine Art Gallery
Location: Asia Fine Art Gallery
Artist(s): ZHANG Wen Rong
Date: 7 Apr - 4 May 2011

Born 1982, in Gansu, China, Zhang Wen Rong graduated from Sichuan Fine Arts Institute. His difficult upbringing is portrayed in his painting style and content – his understanding of lifeʼs problems allow him to paint with personal understanding.

He paints the lifestyle of ordinary people in China from a different spectrum of life as he sees it.    He is sensitive to everyday life drama which he sees around him. His painting style is clean and yet translucent - leaving viewers space to think and rethink.

The everyday struggles can look miserable. Yet, from a distance, viewers cannot help admiring the characters - living their life with strength and hope - making the best of what they have.

There is no better day than today and no better chance, than to live your life to its fullest and utmost potential. You can experience the wonder and joy of life, feel every breath and live every moment to its greatest despite difficult circumstances. People have dreams, there may be limits, but it might as well be today that you start to truly live. Zhang Wen Rong expresses this beautifully.

His works have been exhibited in Yokohama Museum, Japan, Three Gorges Museum, Today Art Museum Beijing, Chonqqing Art Museum.

Opening Reception: Thursday 7th April 2011 (05.00 to 9.00pm)
