This exquisite collection of watercolours features works by Bei Xu Min, Zaw Mong, Moe Nyo and Vu Thu Hien, established painters from different Asian cultures and with four different painting styles.
Bei Xu Min is probably the finest watercolour painter of the Suzhou school, and many of his works depict scenes in Hong Kong. Zaw Mong, who tragically died earlier this year aged only 47, was one of the foremost watercolour painters of his time, and was known for his delicate views of Burma’s Irrawaddy river. Moe Nyo’s paintings are minimalist but striking in their colours and content. And Vu Thu Hien specialises in watercolour-and-ink paintings depicting Asian women from times gone by. Her works are on dzo paper, which is produced from the mulberry tree and is very enduring.
