Modern Vintage, the first exhibition in Hong Kong by American sensual fine art photographer Steve Diet Goedde, will be shown at LANDMARK, Central.
Artist statement:
"The revolving door of fashion always comes back around to its roots and foundations. We look to bygone eras for the romance and passion of what we imagine was a better time when life was easier and less complicated. When gazing at these portals to the past, we see ourselves fitting into these eras through the lens of fashion and style. The modern vintage confirms that the fundamental things about us remain constant between then and now, and that only the exteriors change.”
In addition to his other projects, Steve Diet Goedde has been working on this series since the mid-1990s up through the current day. With his passion for old-school glamour and photographic techniques, Steve remains faithful to the style and aesthetics of the past by shooting his imagery on film using medium-format cameras with little or no digital manipulation."
