Ben McMillan moved to Beijing from London in late 2004, when he began his photography career documenting urban and social change. Since then his editorial and commercial credits have ranged from National Geographic & Vanity Fair to Mercedes Benz, while his work was exhibited in London as part of the Victoria and Albert Museum’s China Now project. Earlier this year he was a finalist in the 2009 Sovereign Asia Art Prize and opens a new exhibition with Asia Fine Art in Hong Kong in August 2010.
Complimenting his photography Ben runs Beijing Photospace, a 250 sqm commercial studio and production house located near the 798 art district. With location services and equipment hire built around Beijing’s leading Profoto lighting system, the studio supports photographers from around the world and commercial clients including Getty Images, Conde Nast China and GQ New York.
