Fine art and music are the two most motivating forces of human soul. British Contemporary artist Mark Grieves combined the force of painting, photos and music into his artworks. Through the whispering lovers who are dancing or hugging on the keys of piano, one can hear the music of love which can touch your soul. From 1 to 31 Jul 2009, The Gallery of Modern Art is proud to present an exhibition of limited edition artwork of Mark Grieves to invite visitors to see and hear a series of love songs in this summer.
As a professional photographer, Mark Grieves is attracted to shapes and shadows, light and contrast. He has created a big sensation on canvas with his highly original and brilliantly constructed, detailed studies of the piano keyboard, which dance to life with reflective light and his trademark ebony and ivory characters. Through the image, he invites viewers to immerse themselves into the picture, enabling them to feel the celebration of the most fundamental of emotions – LOVE.
