Born in 1984 in Jiangsu, China. Like many young people born in the 1980s, he grew up with an abundance of material goods and appears to be happy, carefree and confident. He loves music, likes playing around and enjoys loving and being in love. But while he searches for amusement, he recognizes this is just a way of cheating himself, covering up the loneliness deep in his heart. Beneath their colorful outer shells, people are actually all grey inside. Most of his pieces are grey in color, with figures gazing out uncertainly, painted in liquid strokes. His work represents the complexity of his generation, whose enriched but somehow empty lives are filled with anxiety.
