Wall House Color Photographs and animation, 2007 In Feb 2007, I was invited to the residency program ”Wall House”, located in Northern Holland in the suburb of Groningen. Wall House is an actual piece of architecture designed by John Hejduk, who is well known as being very conceptual, theoretical and influential in his field, even though none of his projects were built until his passing in 2000. His philosophical thinking and unusual interior spaces inspired my new work, “Wall House”. In this work, I continue to explore the theme of the phenomena in the loneliness of our cosmopolitan urban life. I project displacement through an emotional and physical dimension, to talk about the fact that “I” live alone with no choice, all the while searching for a solution to this status, bringing up another fact or suggestion that “I” am my own companion.
This work is a complex installation with 4 photo images and 1 animation video projection. The images are mounted on setup walls; the animation is a 1-minute loop, projected on image no. 3 with sound.
