Evoking Female Beauty
by Art Links Asia
Location: Gallery by The Harbour & Gallery of Modern Art
Artist(s): Simon CLARIDGE, Eve ARNOLD, Joanne PANAYI
Date: 4 Aug - 19 Aug 2010

The female body curves, postures and facial expressions have inspired artists at all times. ArtLinks Asia and Gallery by The Harbour jointly present “Evoking Female Beauty” Exhibition from 4 - 19 August 2010 to celebrate the beauty of female form. Artlinks Asia has brought together 3 talented artists of varying styles to present their appreciation of the female charisma. Limited Edition artworks by Simon Claridge, Eve Arnold and Joanne Panayi will be featured in the exhibition. All the Limited Editions were produced with high quality and special reproduction techniques. Each piece was signed and authenticated by the artist to ensure full satisfaction.

British artist Simon Claridge’s “The Diamond Dust Collection” was inspired by internationally famed beauties like Marilyn Monroe, Twiggy and Kate Moss. The collection also pays tribute to Andy Warhol’s portraits of the sixties models. The diamond dust Simon added to finish his works really gave them a different dimension, reflecting the paparazzi-filled lifestyles many of these icons lead. The Limited Edition of “The Diamond Dust Collection” is the only set available in Asia and will be shown exclusively at this exhibition.

It is said that Eve Arnold was the person who captured Marilyn Monroe’s best photos. The series of 8 stunning photographs were taken during the ten years when Arnold followed Monroe on various locations. These photographs showed the star in relaxed style and they were only first released about 5 years ago. Joanne Panayi’s “New Shoes” sculpture range had won her an award from the Global Women’s Innovators and Inventors Network (GWIN) in 2009. Using different media is also something that strongly influences  Panayi’s work. She has two awards from Goldsmiths for her design skills and traditional techniques she uses in making silverware. Much of her inspiration comes from people, their relationships and emotion – her work always has a story behind it. The “New Shoes” sculptures will be exhibited for the first time in Hong Kong.

ArtLinks Asia invites everyone to enjoy the natural beauty of different female forms and exclusively experience the sparkles and glitters from “The Diamond Dust Collection”.
