“A Dog’s Life” is a series of paintings that expresses the vibrancy of life, together with its uncertainties, through the object of the dog. Huang He’s works are always narrating and expressing emotions through his figures, which are filled with visionary bursts. In “A Dog’s Life”, he uses primary colors, strong contrasts and graphic strokes in his oil on canvas and oil on paper paintings to express the vibrancy of life - the images are scratched and splashed with paint on the other hand to show that everything could be totally different or over in the next moment. Life for Huang He is special, but fragile.
