An artist needs creativity and persistence that go beyond the common. Ha Bik-chuen (1925 – 2009) might have only entered the art profession later in life, but his achievements have been stunning. His unusual drive, quick mind and passion for creativity had transcended the limits of living environment and resources available, and helped sculpt a most “uncommon” life in art.
'The Venerable Mr Ha' turned what was an interest from his days of youth into a lifelong pursuit and dedicated over half-acentury’s worth of years to art.
This retrospective exhibition shows more than eighty selected works by this local veteran artist to reveal his lifetime in art. His hallmark works such as bamboo sculptures, prints, collage, sculptures, photography and ink paintings in his sunset of life are included. This exhibition not only presents Ha’s artistic accomplishments, but also allows viewers to witness his “uncommon” story. Lets check out this unique art journey together!
