Lies For Leo- a painting exhibition
by agnès b.'s Librairie Galerie
Location: agnes b.'s Librairie Galerie
Artist(s): Mike LASH
Date: 11 Jul - 10 Oct 2009

Mike Lash and his daughter, Ivy, met their newborn neighbour, Leo.

They thought Leo and his dad, Tim, should set the record straight on a few of life's little mysteries.

Adults love imparting their vast wisdom about the “truths” of the universe to children. It’s an honest enough gesture to help bring a sense of order amidst the perceived chaos that is all around us. Especially since studies have shown that a four year old may ask up to four hundred questions a day. Unfortunately, many of these pearls of wisdom simply aren’t based in fact, and wind up causing us to scratch our heads when we finally realize that for all these years we have been duped.

Hence, in 2007, he has created a book entitled “Lies for Leo” depicting misinformation adults commonly imparted to their children.

Mike Lash is a New York artist with over 25 years exhibition experience with one-person exhibitions in the United States, France, Switzerland, Yugoslavia and Japan. He received his Master of Arts in painting from Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, Illinois, where he later was honoured by being awarded the outstanding College Alumni in 2001 for the College of Visual & Performing Arts.
