“Best by Binh”, a collection of carefully selected works by the renown artist Nguyen Thanh Binh, one of Vietnam’s most popular and admired artists.

Born in 1954, Binh attended both the Hanoi Fine Arts College and the Ho Chi Minh Arts College. He is particularly known for his female images, young women often dressed in the “ao dai”, the famous traditional Vietnamese dress, as well as highly stylized nudes and ballerina paintings.

His subjects are highly stylized and simplified figures, with any movement expressed in broad brush strokes, usually against an often muted, soft earth tone background. This contrasts delicately with the white and pastel colors Binh so often uses to portray his subjects.
