Recognized as one of Vietnam’s leading creative talents, Dinh Quan (Hanoi, 1964) specialized in lacquer paint technique and has mastered that skill like no one else.
While there are many lacquer artists in Vietnam, Dinh Quan is arguably the only one who brings fantastic creative movement and energy to his mainly abstract and semi-abstract work.
His subject matters range from self-portraits and female forms to somewhat cynical but astute politically oriented themes, the latter presented cautiously with humor, yet particularly poignant in a rapidly changing society.
Though experienced in other media and in other forms of art as well, Dinh Quan’s love for the lacquer technique truly has transformed his life.
