Arch Angel Art Gallery presents: "The Power of the Sketch", a solo exhibition by Tran Luu Hau. Well into his eighties now, Tran Luu Hau occupies a special place amongst the artists of Vietnam. A mentor to many young artist attending the famous College des Beaux Arts d’Indo-Chine close to his home, Tran Luu Hau spends the summers away from Hanoi, often in the Sapa highlands region. It is there, in the cooler mountain air where he appears most productive, inspired and where the best paintings stem from, particularly the famous abstract nudes painted there.

His acrylic and oil paintings are all based on superb sketches and charcoal drawings that are normally not for sale. A few years ago he made an exception however and we acquired a series of sketches now available in “The Power of the Sketch”.
