The Cat Street Gallery presents Album Paintings, a brand new body of works by Australian artist Alan Jones. Best known for his figurative work and self-portraiture, Jones returns to Hong Kong for his first ever solo show bringing this latest series of paintings - a collection of works that draw influence from an old album of family photographs.

Working primarily between painting and sculpture, Jones takes a very personal approach to his subject matter as he explores ideas that surround the notion of identity. Self-portraits and family members are often at the centre of a new work as Jones traces back his family history, communicating the intricacies of human connections and relationships and how his own roots subsequently influence his work.

Throughout his career, Jones has exhibited widely both within Australia and internationally. Most recently Jones was a finalist in the prestigious 2013 Archibald Prize. He is in several public collections including Artbank Australia, Macquarie Group, Maitland Regional Art Gallery and the Gold Coast City Art Gallery.
