Sun Guangyi Solo Exhibition
by Sin Sin Fine Art
Location: Sin Sin Fine Art
Artist(s): SUN Guangyi
Date: 11 Mar - 31 Mar 2011

Sin Sin Fine Art is delighted to introduce the solo exhibition of Chinese contemporary artist Sun Guangyi, held from 11 to 31 March. This retrospective exhibition will showcase Sun's work from 2004 to 2010.

From “Awake” (March – April 2004), “Blessings - Voyage to Shangri-La” (December 2005), ‘Blessings - Voyage to Shangri-La - Part II” (December 2007), to “Return to Shangrila – Heaven” (October – November 2009), one could see Sun’s endless efforts to connect the existing material world and his spiritual world. For Sun, we all have in our hearts our own “Shangri-La”, which is the lighthouse of our lives, keeping us from hesitation and confusion in our journey of life. It is also our soul’s homeland. Its existence frees our souls from ever wandering, provides our spirits with a home, and frees our lives from loneliness. Sun Guangyi's enlightening paintings are influenced by his life experience, especially the landscape, the culture and the people in Yunnan.  He also yearns to share the peacefulness, tranquility, mystery and the solemn of nature with art lovers.

“… Where will life go? What is my relationship with this piece of land? Where is the source of my soul, which I have the passion and seek for?., Here [Shangrila] I find the peace and calm in my soul, which also complete the stage of my art which I have been searching for years…” Sun Guangyi (Feb 2011)

Exhibition Opening Reception: 11 March, 2011, 6–9pm
Exhibition Duration: 11 – 31 March 2011
Venue: Sin Sin Fine Art, G/F, No. 1 Prince’s Terrace, Mid-Levels, Hong Kong
