Korean contemporary art has played a highly significant role in shaping the international art scene and has emerged as one of the most influential areas on the world art stage. This summer, Times Square is honored to have invited two leading Korean contemporary artists, Ji Yong Ho and Yi Hwan Kwon, to showcase their latest sculptures at Times Square.

The two artists have gained international recognitions for their creative concepts and innovative use of medium.The 11 piece “Mutant Series” by Ji Yong Ho along with Yi Hwan Kwon’s 5 pieces of distorted features will be on display. Ji Yong Ho has gained worldwide acclaim for his unique style, using tyres to shape all kinds of animals.

Yong Ho Ji began working on the Mutant series a few years ago. His inspiration comes from the impacts of environment
 damage and DNA mutation on art creations. Hwan Kwon Yi's distorted figures stress the relationship between media and audience; he is a veteran in creating stark contrasts between everyday objects and strange-looking distorted figures. The exhibition allows visitors to travel between fantasy and reality.
