Zhen Chongbin received a Master of Fine Arts at San Francisco Art Institute. He has exhibited internationally in countries such as the United States of America, China, South Korea, London, Canada, and Germany. Recent solo shows include: Ink Phenomenon – Object of Perception, Flo Peter Gallery, Germany, 2012; Black Wall / White Space, Hong Kong Arts Center, Hong Kong, 2012; Xuan Etc, Shanghai Gallery of Art, China, 2011; White Ink, Fresharp, Chinese Cultural Foundation, San Francisco, USA, 2011 and Emergent, Valentine Willie Fine Art, Singapore, 2010.
In February 2010, his ink paintings were presented in a group exhibit at the Asian Art Museum, San Francisco, and 2008, Zheng was commissioned to make an installation of 86 monumental site specific sculptures, titled Rising Forest, for the Marina Bay Sands Integrated Resort in Singapore, which was unveiled in late April 2010.
Zheng’s work, Ended Season, is the first contemporary artwork commissioned by the San Francisco Asian Art Museum. Their Chinese painting collection’s strength lies in modern and contemporary ink painting.
Zheng was a recipient of the San Francisco Chinese Cultural Foundation’s Artist Excellence Exhibition Series Grant 2010 – 2011.
