N-Minutes is a video art festival which integrates art into public spaces. N-Minutes was founded in 2011 by curator Li Ningchun. Since then, it is held every year from September to October in Shanghai. With various art activities including Screening, Mapping, Performance, Exhibition and Forum, N- Minutes weaves video arts into urban life and interacts with the public, enabling a new possibility of public art.
The second year of N-Minutes “Dialogue” is coming up in 2012 : it aims to build up a dialogue between art and city, video and the public, commerce and publicity.
The 2nd N-Minutes Video Art Festival will open on September 7th in the main venue of Citic Square on West Nanjing Rd, Shanghai. Stationed there is the N-Box video room designed by artists. Nearly 30 artists are invited both from home and abroad along with 50 video works to be displayed during the one-month festival. N- Minutes will work with art institutions, art museums, galleries, and creative parks to put forward video shows and lectures, etc.
Artists will not only bring their video works but also present audio-visual outdoor shows like mapping.1024 architecture, a most dashing art group from France is invited to create mapping on-site. Enjoy the artistic feast!
