We’re pleased to announce that ART OSAKA 2014, the 12th contemporary art fair will take place on Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th of July 2014 (preview on Friday 11th) at Hotel Granvia Osaka.
53 art galleries from both Japan and abroad will exhibit works from emerging to internationally recognized artists. Dozens of the hotel's rooms will be transformed into temporary galleries, displaying an exciting array of work, from painting, print and sculpture, to video installation.  

It’s noteworthy that the collector’s items from the groups of Gutai, High-Red Center and Mono-ha will be exhibited in ART OSAKA 2014. For instance works by Aiko Miyawaki (*1929-) will display at Toki No Wasuremono, Natsuyuki Nakanishi (*1935-) at gallery 21yo-ji, Takesada Matsutani (*1937-) at Gallery Hosokawa, Etsutomu Kashihara (*1941-) at SAI Gallery, Kouji Enokura (*1942-) at gallery 21yo-ji, Kishio Suga (*1944-) at Gallery Shilla.  Those artists are highly regarded internationally in the past few years as pioneers of Japanese avant-garde age in the after WW2.

As another remarkable trend, ART OSAKA 2014 welcome the galleries who specially deal with outsider art (art brut) for the first time. Galerie Jean-Pierre Ritsch-Fisch(Strasbourg), gallery incurve(Kyoto) and gallery gufgufu (Shiga) will show new perspective of art. 

Moreover, a several special exhibitions, cooperating with international art institutions such as JEUNE CREATION/France, Hamburg-city/Germany and ART KAOHSIUNG/Taiwan will be held.
