As a child of war in Croatia, Ana Tzarev, 76, would pick flowers from the many graves she was surrounded and planted them at home. Despite her young tender age, she understood the idea of giving flowers to express both sorrow and love. Ana then decided that her gift of love to the world would be the global display of flower paintings and sculptures through her Love & Peace Global Campaign launched in 2012.
To date, the Love & Peace Campaign has been showcased in numerous cities across the world beginning with London on Park Lane, and including Venice for the 55thBiennale, Monaco, New York, Prague and Rome. Other featured sites this year include Dag Hammerskjold Plaza in front of the UN in New York, Taksim Square in Istanbul and Bratislava.
From a fashion designer to a visual artist, Ana is also a humanitarian, having established Ana's Children, a global initiative that supports the education and empowerment of more than 10,000 underprivileged girls in developing countries.
This will be the world’s largest art installation, in Singapore. The Love & Peace Global Sculpture Campaign comprises 15 15-foot fibreglass poppy sculptures created in five colours.
