In the past few years, ink art has attracted increasingly wide attention and interest. Exhibitions and discussions on ink art are in full swing not only in mainland China, Taiwan and Singapore but also in North America and Europeans counties such as UK, Germany, France, Italy and Spain. However, it is also noticed that rarely has anyone endeavored to trace back to the origin contemporary ink art: How was it inspired? What evolutions and changes did it witness? What kind of experimental spirit did it embody? What developments, innovations and breakthroughs did Chinese contemporary ink artists ignite?
