Art Beijing has seen extraordinary growth since its first fair in 2006. Building its reach as China’s economy and art market reaches new heights, Art Beijing is enthusiastically preparing for its largest and most significant event to date, the 2010 Art Beijing Contemporary Art Fair. This year’s fair will take place at the China National Agricultural Exhibition Center from April 29 to May 2, 2010. We are pleased to invite you to take part in Art Beijing 2010 and Photo Beijing 2010.
Building on the outstanding success of its past four art fairs, Art Beijing is today one of the most important contemporary art and culture activities on the international scene. The generous support and participation of the Beijing Municipal Government, the Beijing Culture & Art Foundation and major art institutions across the globe all contribute to the event’s success. In 2009, more than 150 major domestic and international media participated in and reported the fair. Among these,10 media, as the special support media of Art Beijing and Photo Beijing, made in-depth special reports on the fair. In addition, many foreign media correspondents published follow-up reports on Art Beijing, including reviews of the fair and its exhibitors. More than 7,000 honored guests attended the VIP Preview Exhibition, and another 30,000 attended the following four days of the fair, where they exchanged ideas and interests with exhibitors. At e ach year’s fair, groups of VIP collectors from across the globe gather in Beijing to take the pulse of the contemporary art market in China and beyond.
Art Beijing 2010 takes this international platform for contemporary art to new heights. With the participation of 80 exclusive international galleries, Art Beijing 2010 is expected to become the key trading center for contemporary Asian art works. The exhibition is engaging a vast array of galleries, collectors and art resources from across Asia, including South Asia, helping to cultivate rapid growth in the Asian art markets. In addition, the third year of Art Beijing’s Green House Program will see 30% of the 25 gallery spaces for Photo Beijing reserved for foreign galleries to hold thematic exhibitions. Far more than a platform for exhibiting new work, the fair promotes helps build networks of independent curators and collectors, as well as provides support and opportunities to emerging artists. This year, Art Beijing has attracted new sources of investment, increased media outreach, improved exhibition facilities and VIP recept ion, and expanded services to help exhibitors and collectors get the most out of their investments.
