The Power of Manga: Osamu Tezuka and Shotaro Ishinomori
Date: 29 Jun - 8 Sep 2013

Dream, hope, courage.. 'The Power of Manga' has impressed the public. The reason why 'manga' has established its position as the global culture is there were two persons, Osamu Tezuka, the god of manga who was optimistic about the possibility of it, and Shotaro Ishinomori, the king of manga who has developed significantly. Their works with familiar images, unique characters, and universal theme still fascinate people.
In this exhibition, through original works and images of 'Astro Boy', 'Black Jack', 'Cyborg 009' and 'Kamen Rider', the origin of 'the power of manga' can be found. Also, hommage works by celebrities, who were affected by those cartoons, will be on display.
