It is a great pleasure for us to organize the D&AD 2011 Exhibition at Ad Museum Tokyo.D&AD is one of the most esteemed international creative awards with nearly half a century of history and is known particularly for its stringent judging standards. Judges gathered from all over the world award not only works showing creative excellence but also ideas which are truly ground breaking, leading to the next generation of creativity.Though there are some years when there is no work judged as worthwhile of being awarded the Black Pencil, the highest D&AD award, 2011 saw 5 works receiving the honor of Black Pencils. Works having a wide range of themes, from the design of a daily commodity to an advertising campaign, from an event protesting against human rights violations to a work featuring state-of-the-art IT technology and its application, reached beyond our expectations. The exhibited works indicate new paths leading to the creativity and communications of tomorrow.Great works of the Black Pencil and Yellow Pencil awards, nomination winners as well as winning works of the Student Awards will be introduced at this exhibition. It is our wish that you will enjoy and be inspired by all these works.
