Coming Home - Art Container Project Documentation and Art Exhibition
Date: 24 May - 3 Jun 2014

Art Container Project, witnessing the development of Hong Kong arts, spanning of 6 years, is absolutely self-financed. This historical art project is coming home!

In May 2008, a hundred percent local Art Container Project, having broken through all barriers in coordination, funding and venue, took the lead to showcase 37 of 20 feet containers in West Kowloon Cultural District to the public. 38 Hong Kong artists had been invited to paint their works on the containers. In such a way, works of art can step out of traditional exhibition space and come closer to daily lives, the community and the public. Therefore, a bigger space of art appreciation was created, starting from our local audience.

After the departure exhibition at West Kowloon Cultural District, the art containers had begun its art and functional missions, joining the flow of the logistics industry, the containers were taken to different cities around the world to promote Hong Kong arts. When the art containers were serving at sea, the working team of the Art Container Project had traveled to different cities continuously to promote Hong Kong arts and introduced this project to the overseas audiences. All records had been gathered into a publication.
